The board's windows run roughly April to early August — these are four-month drifts wearing a daily headline's clothes. Latias-EX's 50 percent haircut and the Genesect promo's 59.7 percent collapse both moved on volume nobody publishes — each almost certainly a handful of sales doing the work of a trend. The Gold Star Mew at $3,500 sits well above recent PSA 10 medians near $2,500 reported on the same page, a spread that says listing noise as loudly as it says demand. The stated logic is sound: scalpers need pristine sealed product, so remove the pristine. The lived result is that a collector can now pay full retail for a box that arrives pre-wounded, sacrificed in a war it did not enlist in. This is where the arms race has taken us: the scalper bot buys the product, so the store maims the product, so the collector — the one party in this economy who just wanted the cards — receives damaged goods as a security feature. Fans are celebrating. Az would note only that when the best available news is "the merchandise is being destroyed strategically," the system producing that news has failed everyone politely enough that we are applauding it. Your box should arrive with its face intact. That is not a hot take. That was, until recently, the entire premise of retail.
